New year, new batting practice jerseys

Spring training will officially start in a few days, so we’ll soon be seeing plenty of photos of the New York Mets working out in their new 2014 batting practice jerseys.

And the MLB.com shop wants to make sure we know that we can buy them. (After all, that’s the whole point of changing the style every year or two.)

You can get an authentic David Wright batting practice jersey for $119.99, assuming that you wear size 40, 44, 48 or 52. (If you wear a different size, you seem to be out of luck.)

Generic authentic batting practice jerseys are available for $79.99 in the same size selection.

Generic authentic batting practice jerseys in last year’s style are still available at a discounted price of $63.97 in M, L and XL.

The major change in the 2014 version is the addition of the orange panels under the arms and the orange trim at the collar.

Anybody have plans to add the new 2014 Mets batting practice jerseys to their collection? I know I’m going to have to pass.

(Yes, I’m avoiding talking about Sandy Alderson‘s interview on WFAN yesterday. For the sake of my sanity, I’ve decided to ignore what the Mets’ GM says and just focus on what he does. But if anyone has any feelings they want to share, feel free to discuss it in the comments section.)

    1. At this point, I’d like to see Stephen Drew sign with the Camden Riversharks again if it means we can stop talking about him. 🙂

I’m ready for “real” baseball to start – enough with the hot stove season leftovers.
