  1. I was getting an autograph from former cub billy ott and I asked him about his first game in the bigs. he said ernie banks was the onlyone who came over to him and said welcome aboard. made him feel so much better. truly a class act

  2. Eddie Vedder wrote “All the Way” at the suggestion of Ernie Banks. Singing that song at the Pearl Jam concert in Wrigley Field in 2013, with Ernie Banks on the stage, was a moment that I’ll always remember.
