Columbia Fireflies unveil inaugural season jerseys

The Columbia (S.C.) Fireflies, the New York Mets new Single-A South Atlantic League affiliate, officially unveiled their uniforms for their inaugural season at a press conference yesterday.

Here they are! Our uniforms for our inaugural season! #LetsGlow

The team gave fans a sneak peak at their caps, which glow in the dark, last week on National Hat Day.

Why stop at #NationalHatDay when you could celebrate #NationalHatNight too with our glow-in-the-dark lids! #LetsGlow

The Fireflies, scheduled to open their home schedule at their new ballpark on April 14th, will be managed by Jose Leger. His staff will include Jonathan Hurst, a former MLB pitcher for both the Mets and Montreal Expos, Joel Fuentes and Alex Tavarez. Kiyoshi Tada will be the team’s athletic trainer.

What do you think of the new uniforms? I like the glow-in-the-dark element, but I’m not sure I’m a big enough fan of either logo to be tempted to buy a cap.

  1. I like them. I was disappointed I never got one of the Casper Ghosts’ glow-in-the-dark caps when they were around, so I’ll probably get one of these. I like the design enough.
